Glenn D. Pomerantz and Kevin S. Masuda have been named to The Hollywood Reporter’s 2015 Power Lawyers List.
Mr. Pomerantz was recognized for his defense of the NCAA in litigation challenging the rules of amateurism governing college sports, as well as his representation of Universal Music Publishing in royalty disputes with music streamers.
He also noted to The Hollywood Reporter that his work as co-lead trial counsel to the Justice Department in its efforts to block AT&T’s merger with T-Mobile was career-changing. (The deal was abandoned in late 2011.)
Mr. Masuda was recognized for his longtime representation of Beat Electronics, on whose behalf he negotiated its $3 billion sale to Apple. The publication also highlighted his work with an NFL team on its attempted move to Los Angeles.
The Power Lawyers list features a compilation of Hollywood’s 100 most influential attorneys based on the biggest deals and cases during the last year.
Mr. Pomerantz is a litigation partner in the Los Angeles office of Munger Tolles. His practice focuses on antitrust, copyrights and contract matters in the media and entertainment industry.
Mr. Masuda is a corporate partner at the firm. He focuses his practice on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, public and private securities offerings and other business financings.
