Munger, Tolles & Olson attorneys Carolyn Hoecker Luedtke, Kristin L. Myles and Mary Ann Todd have been named “Top Women Lawyers” by the Daily Journal. The list was published May 7, 2014.
Ms. Luedtke was highlighted for her representation of Air Lease Corp. in a trade secret case, an area of particular interest to Ms. Luedtke because it allows her “to learn the ins and outs of [her] clients’ businesses.” She is also defending the NCAA against a group of college athletes “asserting antitrust and intellectual property claims relating to NCAA rules that preclude student-athletes from being paid for the use of their name, image and likeness,” wrote the Daily Journal.
The Daily Journal reported on Ms. Myles’ representation of “big-name clients like Facebook Inc., Amazon.com Inc. and The Coca-Cola Co. through high-stakes litigation.” In 2013, Ms. Myles successfully represented Facebook in opposing a writ of certiorari in a privacy class action before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Ms. Todd, a corporate attorney, was recognized for representing Berkshire Hathaway in a number of significant transactions, including Berkshire’s $28 billion acquisition of H.J. Heinz Company with a partner firm, 3G Capital, in 2013. The Daily Journal also highlighted Ms. Todd’s representation of BlackLine Systems in connection with a majority investment by Silver Lake Sumeru.
Ms. Luedtke’s practice focuses on complex business litigation, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property matters.
Ms. Myles handles complex business litigation involving appellate, transactional, bankruptcy, securities, aerospace and international matters.
Ms. Todd focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate governance.
