Warner Music Settles Digital Downloads Class Action

Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP represented Warner Music Group in settling a class action involving royalties related to digital downloads.
Warner Music admitted no wrongdoing and said in a statement, “we are pleased to have resolved this matter and believe that this is a fair settlement for all parties.”
The $11.5 million deal ends the lawsuit brought by Kathy Sledge, Gary Wright and Ronee Blakley on behalf of all Warner artists.
The settlement agreement, which is subject to court approval, was filed December 31, 2013 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The case is In re: Warner Music Group Corp. Digital Downloads Litigation, case number 3:12-cv-00559.
