Munger, Tolles & Olson partner O’Malley M. Miller was named to the Daily Journal’s Top 20 Real Estate Transactional Lawyers in California list. The list was published on August 14.
The Daily Journal spotlighted Mr. Miller’s representation of Oaktree Capital Management LP and Hines, an international real estate firm, in a joint venture that acquired a 32-building office portfolio in Las Vegas totaling more than 1.1 million square feet and worth $119.5 million from General Growth Properties. The properties are located across 13 campuses in the premier Summerlin master-planned community. Mr. Miller was also recognized for representing Simon Property Group, the largest real estate company in the world, in the creation of a joint venture with Institutional Mall Investors, the co-investment venture owned by an affiliate of Miller Capital Advisory, Inc. and The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CALPERS) to own and operate The Shops at Mission Viejo in Mission Viejo, California, and Woodfield Mall in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg. The deal was valued at $1 billion and involved 2.2 million square feet.
Mr. Miller maintains a sophisticated transactional practice, including finance, land use and development matters with expertise in matters relating to workouts and debt restructurings.
