Munger, Tolles & Olson continues to rank among the top in the nation for diversity hiring and promotion in law firms. In 2012, the firm placed fourth on The American Lawyer’s 2012 Diversity Scorecard, which was published in the June issue.
The results highlight that the firm has maintained its percentage of minority lawyers at 23.4 percent over the last two years. According to the 2012 scorecard, the average number of diverse attorneys at the largest law firms is 13.6 percent. In addition, Munger Tolles’ percentage of diverse partners rose from 16.1 to 19.2 percent since the last report. The average number of diverse partners among the surveyed firms stands at 6.9 percent.
The Diversity Scorecard is an annual ranking of large U.S. law firms conducted by The American Lawyer to record their percentage of minority attorneys and their percentage of minority partners. This year’s rankings were based on the survey of 233 Am Law 200 and NLJ 250 law firms.
