At the Dec. 15th Bar Association of San Francisco’s (BASF) Annual Membership Luncheon, Munger Tolles & Olson litigation partner Blanca Fromm Young was presented with a BASF Award of Merit. Awards of Merit are given to individuals who have devoted significant time and effort to the Bar Association of San Francisco.
Ms. Young was honored for her work on the San Francisco Superior Court funding crisis. In August the San Francisco Superior Court and the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) reached an agreement that secured emergency funding for the Superior Court and allowed it to keep 11 courtrooms, including both complex litigation departments, and approximately 100 jobs.
Ms. Young played an integral role in making the agreement possible. As part of a working group of the Bar Association of San Francisco ("BASF") created to address the court funding crisis, she helped develop a proposal for raising fees for appearances at case management conferences in complex cases, which would allow fee revenue to be retained locally.
Ms. Young is a litigation partner in the San Francisco office of Munger Tolles. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on intellectual property, civil fraud and products liability disputes.
