John Maher is a litigation associate in the San Francisco office of Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Maher clerked for Judge Lucy H. Koh of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and Chief Judge Diane P. Wood of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Mr. Maher earned his J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as editor-in-chief of Ecology Law Quarterly. He graduated with an M.A. in history from Yale University and a B.A. in history and politics, First Class Honors (summa cum laude), from Oxford University.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Maher was a Teach For America corps member, teaching 8th grade U.S. history in Dallas, Texas. He is proficient in French.
