Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kaplan clerked for Judge Scott Matheson, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and Judge George H. King of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Ms. Kaplan earned her J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law, where she was senior editor of the Southern California Law Review and a teaching fellow in the Legal Writing and Advocacy program. She was elected Order of the Coif and awarded the Judge Barry Russell Federal Practice Award. Ms. Kaplan graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
