Munger, Tolles & Olson Partner Katherine Forster Named a Leader of Influence by The Los Angeles Business Journal

The Los Angeles Business Journal named partner Katherine Forster to its 2022 Leaders of Influence: Labor & Employment Attorneys list, which recognizes the very best employment and labor litigators and trial attorneys in the region.

Ms. Forster was recognized for her litigation work, particularly assisting clients with class action defense, disputes involving independent contractor classification and countless behind-the-scenes crises.

Additionally, the Los Angeles Business Journal highlighted Ms. Forster’s ongoing pro bono litigation on behalf of transgender, non-binary and intersex prisoners and former prisoners whose medical information, sexual history and history of sexual victimization were being disclosed by the Washington Department of Corrections in response to Public Records Act requests.

Ms. Forster alongside co-counsel ACLU of Washington, Disability Rights Washington and MacDonald Hoague & Bayless recently obtained a preliminary injunction barring the Department of Corrections from disclosing the sensitive information. The case, Does v. Washington Department of Corrections, is slated for trial in 2023 and was a driving force for new legislation in Washington, HB 1956, which exempts from public disclosure certain sensitive records of current and formerly incarcerated individuals.
