Jerry Roth Addresses Wiretapping at ABA Annual Meeting

Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP attorney Jerome C. Roth discussed the wiretapping of attorney-client privileged conversations by the National Security Agency and the Department of Justice on a special Showcase Panel at the 2014 American Bar Association (ABA) Annual Meeting in Boston on Aug. 9, 2014. He and a panel including the presidents of the ABA and the International Lawyers’ Union (UIA), and the presidents of the French, United Kingdom and European Union Bars, debated the important legal issues raised by recent indications of government wiretapping of privileged conversations at both the domestic and international level.

Mr. Roth is a litigator specializing in business and international litigation and white collar criminal defense, and holds both a U.S. law degree and a French law degree in EU and international business law. He is the president of the U.S. National Committee and chair of the Criminal Law Commission of the UIA.
