Munger, Tolles & Olson attorney Jeffrey L. Bleich delivered the keynote address at the Silicon Valley Association of General Counsel’s 2014 All Hands Meeting International at the Santa Clara Convention Center on May 13, 2014. The annual conference is “a special event for in-house professionals at technology and life science companies doing business globally.”

Mr. Bleich addressed a full house of general counsels from Silicon Valley’s leading tech companies, focusing on “Challenges and Opportunities in a Rising Asia.” His remarks covered a range of issues for the tech industry, such as efforts by some countries to limit data access, including restricting cloud storage, taxing or applying price discrimination to ISPs, as well as privacy laws, data security requirements, cybertheft and economic espionage.

Mr. Bleich returned to Munger Tolles in December 2013 after four years of service as U.S. Ambassador to Australia. His law practice is focused on international and domestic litigation and counseling, with special emphasis on privacy and data security, internal investigations, trade and cross-border disputes, and the Asia-Pacific region.
