Munger, Tolles & Olson attorney Jeffrey L. Bleich addressed the next class of U.S. ambassadors about to embark on their posts in a speech at the Foreign Service Institute in Arlington, Va on June 13, 2014. His remarks concerned the expanding challenges for ambassadors to respond rapidly to events, and the implications of all media communications now potentially going international.
Mr. Bleich served as U.S. Ambassador to Australia from 2009-2013 and as special counsel to President Obama during the first year of his administration. In 2013, Mr. Bleich received the State Department’s highest award for a non-career ambassador.
Based in San Francisco, Mr. Bleich’s law practice is focused on international and domestic litigation and counseling, with special emphasis on privacy and data security, internal investigations, trade and cross-border disputes, and the Asia-Pacific region.
