Ronald L. Olson has been named a Lifetime Achiever by The American Lawyer and is profiled in the magazine’s September 2013 issue. The Lifetime Achiever Award honors “outstanding private sector success and devotion to public service by members of the legal profession.”
Mr. Olson’s profile in the magazine features highlights from his five-decade legal career. Representing movie studios and oil companies, Mr. Olson “became a trusted adviser to a host of corporate power brokers.”
“You build relationships with integrity and put some energy into them and a lot of good things happen,” Mr. Olson said.
He credits the “values and philosophy regarding life and business” of Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett as having influenced him “as a lawyer and a person.”
Civic commitment has always been at the core of Mr. Olson’s work, and the article highlights his role on the board of Southern California Public Radio. “I see it as my duty to engage in service to benefit Los Angeles because I’m a professional with special skills sets, and I’m someone who has benefited from this community,” he said.
Mr. Olson will be among the eight Lifetime Achiever honorees at the 10th Annual American Lawyer Awards in New York City this fall.
