Munger Tolles attorney Manuel F. Cachán was sworn in to the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation of the State Bar of California on February 1, 2013.
The Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation is an agency of the State Bar created by statute to evaluate judicial candidates nominated by the Governor. The statute requires the Governor to submit to the Commission the names of all potential nominees for judicial office.
Mr. Cachán and fellow members of the Commission will be responsible for gathering information about the candidates whose names have been submitted to the Commission, conducting confidential evaluations of the judicial qualifications of candidates and reporting their findings to the Governor.
Mr. Cachán focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and often represents companies with operations in Latin America in U.S. litigation.
