Munger, Tolles & Olson partner Glenn D. Pomerantz was named a 2012 Law360 MVP of the Year in two categories ─ Competition and Media & Entertainment. He was the only lawyer to be selected in two categories for the accolade.
The legal publication noted that in a single year Mr. Pomerantz “went from helping the federal government block AT&T Inc. from merging with T-Mobile USA Inc. to convincing regulators to clear Universal Music Group’s tie-up with EMI Group.”
It also noted significant representations on behalf of ABC and Fox Entertainment, writing Mr. Pomerantz “spent 2012 living up to his reputation for being studios’ and record companies’ go-to guy.”
“The absolute critical thing is not just to know the law, which is of course important, but to really have an understanding of the fundamentals of the business,” he told Law360.
Mr. Pomerantz’s practice focuses on antitrust, copyright and contract matters in the media and entertainment industry and other industries.
