California Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP attorney Carl H. Moor to serve as a judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Mr. Moor will be filling the vacancy left by Judge Richard A. Adler’s retirement. Mr. Moor’s appointment is one of 18 announced by Gov. Brown on December 5, of which eight are in Los Angeles County.
“I am honored by Governor Brown’s appointment and looking forward to the challenge of serving as a Judge on the Superior Court. I am also thankful to have had such great opportunities while at Munger, Tolles and Olson, and I will miss working closely with the many wonderful colleagues I have met at the firm,” Mr. Moor said.
Mr. Moor joined Munger Tolles in September 2001. At Munger Tolles, he has concentrated on complex civil litigation, SEC enforcement proceedings, internal investigations and white collar criminal defense. Mr. Moor received his J.D. from Yale Law School and clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer.
