Writing Effective Amicus Briefs

Munger Tolles litigation partner Michelle T. Friedland will participate in a Nov. 28 panel titled “Writing Effective Amicus Briefs” at the State Bar of California offices in San Francisco. The event is being co-sponsored by the Impact Fund and the UC Davis California Supreme Court Clinic.

Ms. Friedland will be joining Justice Kathryn M. Werdegar, of the California Supreme Court; Circuit Judge Marsha S. Berzon, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit; and Jocelyn Larkin, Executive Director of the Impact Fund, Berkeley.

Ms. Friedland’s practice focuses primarily on antitrust litigation, appellate matters, and constitutional and academic affairs litigation for higher education institutions. Before joining Munger Tolles in 2004, Ms. Friedland completed a two-year lectureship at Stanford Law School. Before that, she served as a law clerk to Justice Sandra Day O’Connor of the U.S. Supreme Court (2001-2002) and Judge David Tatel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit (2000-2001).
