Munger, Tolles & Olson partner Paul J. Watford has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a judge to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
“Paul is a great lawyer and will be a great jurist. He has all of the essential qualities: high-integrity, broad and deep knowledge of the law, exemplary judgment and collegiality. He will be greatly missed at the firm, but we couldn't be happier for him,” said name partner Ronald L. Olson.
Mr. Watford has been an appellate litigation partner with Munger Tolles since 2001. He was previously an assistant U.S. attorney in the Central District of California. After graduating from the UCLA School of Law, Mr. Watford served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alex Kozinski of the 9th Circuit and then to the Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the Supreme Court of the United States.
