Kristin Linsley Myles and Mary Ann Todd have been named among California’s "Top Women Lawyers" by the Daily Journal newspaper. The annual list, published May 9, recognizes the state’s leading women attorneys, both litigators and corporate practitioners.
Ms. Myles is a San Francisco-based litigator who was the U.S. Supreme Court’s first female Special Master. In 2011, she oversaw the settlement of an original jurisdiction dispute between North Carolina and South Carolina. Ms. Myles’ busy litigation practice includes securities, bankruptcy and general litigation clients such as Boeing Co. and Bank of America.
Ms. Todd is a corporate partner who recently represented 99¢ Only Stores in its $1.6 billion sale to Ares Management LLC, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and the Gold/Schiffer family. Reuters said the deal was a “fresh example of how to handle a management buyout” and the transaction was recognized by The Deal Magazine as an “M&A Deal of the Year.” In August 2011, she was part of the Munger, Tolles & Olson team that represented Berkshire Hathaway in its $5 billion investment in Bank of America and she also represented Berkshire Hathaway in its 2011 acquisition of The Lubrizol Corp.
