John W. Spiegel and Robert B. Knauss spoke Oct. 28 at the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s 44th Annual Securities Regulation Seminar.
Mr. Spiegel was joined by John M. McCoy III, the Associate Regional Officer of the SEC Los Angeles Regional Office, in a discussion about significant recent developments in securities litigation. John discussed three recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions in the securities litigation as well as the recent settlement of an SEC case of first impression seeking to clawback compensation from a CEO, who was represented by Munger, Tolles & Olson, who was not accused of any wrongdoing.
Mr. Knauss moderated a panel on mergers and acquisitions, which provided information on practices, terms and deal protection provisions and MAC clauses, and how to get the deal done.
Mr. Spiegel is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Munger Tolles. Mr. Spiegel’s practice focuses on complex business litigation in the state and federal courts.
Mr. Knauss is also a partner in Munger Tolles' Los Angeles office. He practices general corporate and partnership law, focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate finance.
