The Daily Journal has recognized Munger, Tolles & Olson name partner Ronald L. Olson as one of the “10 Lawyers Who Helped to Shape a Decade” and partners Brad D. Brian and Bart H. Williams among its 2010 list of “Top 100" lawyers in California.
Mr. Olson was recognized for his role as a counselor to his clients, including Berkshire Hathaway, Shell Oil Company, and Yahoo, Inc. The paper profiled his recent work with world renowned art institutions, The J. Paul Getty Museum and the Norton Simon Museum. The Daily Journal wrote, “among the high-powered legal elite, Ronald L. Olson tops the ‘A’ list of those consistently sought by troubled corporations and nonprofits in times of deep crisis.”
Mr. Brian’s work in the wake of the BP oil spill, and his defense work for four major law firms was cited by the legal newspaper as “a testament to his stature around the nation, and his reputation for staying cool under pressure.”
Mr. Williams was recognized for leading the trial team that secured a ground-breaking preliminary injunction which put a halt to RealNetworks, Inc.’s distribution of DVD replicating products known as RealDVD and Facet on behalf of the Motion Picture Association of America and the six major motion picture studios.
The Top 10 list, determined decennially, and Top 100 list, determined annually, are compiled by Daily Journal reporters and editors, and include members of the judiciary, academics, and lawyers in the public and private sectors.
