The 2010 Munger, Tolles & Olson Scholar award was presented on September 28, 2010 by the California Bar Foundation to an aspiring public interest lawyer. The scholarship, one of the top awards named for sponsoring law firms, is in recognition of Munger Tolles' multi-year commitment to the foundation’s scholarship program. Public Interest Scholarship recipients are nominated by their law schools and demonstrate a commitment to public service, academic excellence and financial need. This year’s recipients include aspiring environmental law specialists, grassroots activists, teachers, human rights advocates and students who have volunteered for legal aid clinics and other nonprofit organizations. Since 1992, the foundation has awarded more than $2.5 million in Public Interest Scholarships to some 575 students attending 27 California law schools.
