Ilana Rosenzweig’s tenure as a monitor of the LA County Sheriff’s department was put to the test in her first six months as the Chief Administrator of Chicago’s Independent Police Review Authority (formerly the Office of Professional Standards). In monthly meetings, Ms. Rosenzweig has heard myriad complaints from the community about police misconduct and discovered lowered morale among the staff of the Independent Police Review Authority. She strives to resolve many of the cases with increased hiring for vacant investigative positions, updating the computer systems used to monitor grievances, and handling the large backlog of cases, some going as far back as 2002.
Ms. Rosenzweig was a litigation associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson from 1994-2001. She was appointed as Chief Administrator by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley in 2007.
