MTO places great importance on recruiting attorneys from diverse backgrounds, and believes that our firm can be a platform for success for every lawyer we hire. MTO offers a 1L Summer Program for exceptional first year law students who are members of racial or ethnic minority groups, are GLBT, are physically challenged or are from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. In its 2L and 3L summer program—the firm’s main hiring vehicle—54 percent of the 2011 group are minorities or women and 53 percent of 2010’s group were minorities or women.
